Scam Alert from Royal Borough Greenwich Trading Standards

Please be aware that if you receive a telephone call from mobile number 07405 489347 and they purport to be a Police Officer or Trading Standards Officer calling regarding recent works carried out at your property this is a SCAM.

The Police and Trading Standards always advise businesses or residents to check IDs of callers. If they do not have ID or you are suspicious of an ID they show you, ask them to wait whilst you verify their credentials.

You can then check if they are a genuine Royal Greenwich member of staff by telephoning the Royal Greenwich Council main switchboard number on 020 8854 8888 and ask to be put through to the department they are claiming they are from. For the Police, Call 101 the non-emergency number to report.

Halloween in the Ashburnham Triangle

Following the success of past years we are once again organising for our children to be able to safely celebrate Halloween by trick or treating in the Ashburnham Triangle on Thursday, October 31st between 5.30 and 7.30pm.
Participation is of course absolutely voluntary. We do hope that your children would like to join in to trick or treat and, whether you have children or not, that you would like to give out sweets. For safety and hygiene please only give out wrapped or packaged sweets.
If you are interested, on Halloween night please place a pumpkin or sign by your front door or window so that the children know at which houses to stop, and so that anyone not interested in participating is not inconvenienced.

The consultation can be found at https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/tube/bakerloo-extension/  along with information on why the extension is needed, the new capacity it would provide and the area’s that it will open up (notably, according to the London Borough of Lewisham, one area being Deptford Creek and Greenwich Riverside).
There is also a public exhibition this Saturday 19th October between 10;00 and 16:00 at Lewisham Shopping Centre, Central Square, Molesworth Street, London SE13 7EP where you can find out more about the proposals and talk to members of the project team.
