A glass box on the Mecure and garage demolition?

Simon Barrs, our new planning rep, writes: “There are two current planning applications to bring to Triangle residents’ attention.
First, the Mercure Hotel on Catherine Grove wants to construct another glass box to create four bedrooms on the second floor above the entrance.
Here is what the glass box would look like and what the box over the Mercure door would look like

Public Consultation Expires on the 26th January 2016.

The second proposal is for the demolition of twenty garages off Ashburnham Place, between Langdale Road and Greenwich South Street, to be replaced with four x four-storey, four-bedroom mews houses. Further details can be found on the Council’s Online Planning Portal.  Public consultation expires on February 9th 2016.
Public consultations are ongoing for both, and any observations for or against can be lodged on the Council’s Planning Portal.

Greenwich West Ward, Exchanging Places Event, Cutty Sark Gardens, 26/01/2016

The Greenwich West Safer Neighbourhood Team have organised an Exchanging Places Event on Tuesday 26/01/2016, 1630-1900 hours at Cutty Sark Gardens SE10:

Exchanging Places – Come along and experience what a lorry driver can (and cannot) see by sitting in their seat!

Free Cycle Security Marking also offered on the day!

Greener Greenwich – The Council’s walking and cycling team will be on hand to offer:
  • information, cycling advice and route maps
  • free guided walks and cycle rides
  • Bike Maintenance Classes and
  • the Green Chain, a network of green routes
  • A mechanic will also be on hand to do basic bike repairs.
Greenwich Get Active (GGA) – Come talk to us about the wider range of physical activities available within Greenwich.

Cycles UK – A bike expert from Cycles UK, will be at the Event to offer friendly advice to help you find the best bike, kit or accessories for your specific needs. We are here for all cyclists, of all disciplines, and all levels.
