Thank you to the 50+ people who turned out for the 7 May public discussion at the Ashburnham Arms. As discussed, everyone is strongly encouraged to submit their comments to the planning application - and to submit comments via both the Greenwich and Lewisham Council planning sites. To briefly summarise the major themes discussed this evening, expressed concerns include: environmental impact to Deptford Creek and surrounding area of construction zone confirmation of continued creekside walkable access general appreciation that the site should be redeveloped to provide new housing stock but that low rise/low density property sympathetic to the area, and in consideration of overall visual impact, is what is needed the impact on surrounding buildings and their residents the need to consider impact on nearby listed buildings the question of public benefit fr...

West and east Greenwich neighbourhood management trial - community feedback sessions

Royal Borough of Greenwich invites us to their neighbourhood management trial community feedback sessions. These trials began on 27 November 2024 to improve air quality, reduce traffic, and make it safer and easier for people to walk and cycle in west and east Greenwich. The Council notes both neighbourhoods suffer from high levels of air pollution and traffic, despite the fact many residents do not own a car. In West Greenwich, feedback sessions are talking place on Tuesday 20 May and Wednesday 21 May. They will be conducted 7-8:30pm at West Greenwich Art Centre, 141 Greenwich High Road, SE10 8JL.

Hello everyone - as you know, plans have been submitted for the redevelopment of the Lewisham College Deptford Campus into a complex of hundreds of new flats. These plans have elicited resident concerns about the potential impact of such a significant development on both neighbourhood and skyline. On Wednesday 7 May, 7pm at the Ashburnham Arms, please join us for a discussion of the redevelopment project. Confirmed guest speakers include: Aidan Smith, Councillor, Greenwich Park Ward Raj Patel, Representative, Greenwich Society Mick Delap, Founder of the CreekLink charity A few suggestions on the day: Our discussion will begin promptly at 7pm. Hello everyone - as you will have seen, plans have been submitted for the redevelopment of the Lewisham College Deptford Campus into a complex of hundreds of new flats. These plans have elicited a variety of responses, both positive from negative, from area residents in Greenwich and Lewisham who have concerns about the potential impact of such a significant development on both neighbourhood and skyline. On Wednesday 7 May, 7pm at the Ashburnham Arms, please join us for a discussion of the redevelopment project. Depending on the turnout (and weather), we may also use the adjoining Ashburnham Retreat space.
