Final call: ATA street party placards

Image
If you haven't yet confirmed your interest in hosting a placard, please contact Peter Ferenz ASAP at petermferenz@gmail.com. And thank you for your support of the Ashburnham Triangle Association annual street party on 8 June - we look forward to seeing you there!

Our next street party: will you host a placard?

Image
Hello everyone - as you know, our next street party is scheduled for Sunday 8 June. As they did last year, John Payne Estate Agents is financially sponsoring the event - and as part of their sponsorship, they will produce street party promotional placards to be placed outside Triangle houses for 30 days. These help greatly to promote the event. John Payne places the placards then removes them after 30 days. Worked like clockwork last year! If you're willing to have a placard placed outside your home, please email ATA Chair Peter Ferenz (petermferenz@gmail.com) with your address details. Thanks!

ATA 2022 Street Party cancelled

Dear all, Following the sad news of the death of the Queen, the country is now in a period of mourning. Her Majesty’s funeral is likely to take place either on the day of our planned street party next weekend or shortly afterwards. In the circumstances I am sure you will understand our decision to cancel the event this year. We shall rearrange the party to take place in 2023. Regards, Roger, ATA Chair

After two years away, let’s make this year’s street party one to remember. The event starts at 1pm on Saturday 17 September in the play street next to the Ashburnham Arms and there will be something for everyone!  For the kids we shall have a climbing wall, bouncy castle, some magic tricks, face painting and many other activities to keep the youngsters happy. For the grown-ups, a local band will be pumping out the tunes. And of course there’s food: we’ll be serving up high-quality barbecued beef burgers and sausages, hand-made by a local supplier. The pub will be open all afternoon selling beer, wine and soft drinks to the thirsty. For those with a sweet tooth, the ever-popular cake stall returns, showcasing the bake-off skills of our local residents. The party raises funds to support the work of the ATA so please donate on the day and join in the raffle. This year promises to be the best ever for prizes. If you would like to volunteer to help please email me ( ata.streetparty@gmai...

Complaint made against the ATA - please may we solicit your opinion?

Dear Ashburnham Triangle Residents, As you know we held our annual ATA Summer street party on 7th Sept. It was a great success and it seemed a good time was had by all. That is with the exception of one resident living in Ashburnham Place. This resident has written an official letter of complaint to The Environmental Health, Pollution & Residential Services with a complaint. “Complaint of noise nuisance - raised voices, shouting, screaming and loud music from a street party organised by the Ashburnham Triangle Association.” Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 RBG are obliged to investigate. Hence this post and call for your feedback and input into the complaint. We believed the noise was within acceptance levels for a Saturday afternoon public gathering. What is interesting is that noise is completely subjective and can only be defined by a decibel test which the Greenwich Council environmental team could have done on the day. However the complainant decided she would wa...

More music at the Street Party

Joining the Street Party again this year is the HAROLD FERGUS BAND. Greenwich locals the Harold Fergus Band are influenced by The Beatles, America, John Martyn and Oasis. Their music is a blend of melodic pop and folk, with their gentle niche being the way they blend catchy hooks with traditional folk. The music makes for easy listening whether you are being lulled by one of the band’s original songs or by a unique cover of a classic hit.

Abba Chique at the Street Party

Loved Mama Mia? The most exciting addition to this year’s party is our showcase band ABBA CHIQUE, London’s best-loved ABBA tribute band. Their costumes and sound are fantastic and sure to be a hit with children and adults alike. Since 2009 the band have been performing sell-out ABBA tribute shows all over the UK and at various locations abroad. They recently performed at the popular London Pantomime Horse Race held in Greenwich to a packed crowd at the Prince of Greenwich pub. We would like to invite all our children to participate in a 1970s ABBA-inspired fancy dress contest. All participants will be awarded a prize and there will be a special prize for the best outfit and dancing!
