Complaint made against the ATA - please may we solicit your opinion?

Dear Ashburnham Triangle Residents, As you know we held our annual ATA Summer street party on 7th Sept. It was a great success and it seemed a good time was had by all. That is with the exception of one resident living in Ashburnham Place. This resident has written an official letter of complaint to The Environmental Health, Pollution & Residential Services with a complaint. “Complaint of noise nuisance - raised voices, shouting, screaming and loud music from a street party organised by the Ashburnham Triangle Association.” Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 RBG are obliged to investigate. Hence this post and call for your feedback and input into the complaint. We believed the noise was within acceptance levels for a Saturday afternoon public gathering. What is interesting is that noise is completely subjective and can only be defined by a decibel test which the Greenwich Council environmental team could have done on the day. However the complainant decided she would wa...

Safer Neighbourhoods September Update

Image
Following the recent Safer Neighbourhoods Panel meeting the main point of concern is the dramatic increase in phone snatching. Our local police are organising for the above Met Police poster to be displayed in shop windows, cafes etc following the sudden rise in crime. Groups of youths have been seen in and around Cutty Sark Gardens wearing hoodies and puffa coats even in hot temperatures and targeting lone females for their phones. Most phone snatching has been on foot or bicycle. With the new student year about to commence phone snatching is predicted to continue with the town centre and Thames Path being the most vulnerable areas. This is what the police advise: Criminals are using mopeds and bicycles to snatch mobiles and handbags in this area, often riding up behind the victim and even mounting the pavement to grab them. Police are carrying out operations to tar...

An incident took place in  Greenwich Town Centre at around 3:30pm this afternoon, Tuesday 27th August .  Officers were called to Norman Road in relation to a stabbing and then to the Cutty Sark in relation to a male holding a knife up to a female's throat. Police attended and the male suspect was tasered and arrested. The full details are still being gathered by the police but at present I can confirm there were two female victims, one of whom is the mother of the suspect. The mother has stated the suspect has mental health issues. Enquiries continue and a crime scene remains in place. Car crime in the Triangle on the rise

Image
Car crime within Greenwich has been rising steadily over the last year and sadly we have noticed a dramatic rise within the Triangle. Over the past couple of weeks there has been numerous reports of damage to vehicles in Guildford Grove, Langdale and Catherine Grove where cars have been broken into and items stolen from inside. Last week, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:50 on 14/15th August a BMW X5 was stolen from Guildford Grove. The key for this vehicle must have been cloned as there was no smashed glass where the vehicle was originally parked. High spec vehicles are desirable and are stolen to order. Car keys need to be kept away from the front of the house and ideally stored in a “car key blocker case". (click here for link to best signal blockers from car buyer) . If the signal is blocked it makes stealing your car that much harder.   A local resident has repeatedly captured images on their home security camera of potential car thieves. They walk in parallel down ...
