Next meeting with Councillor Stacy Smith - 5 September

Hello everyone – sharing some information on behalf of our councillor, Stacy Smith.

 

The next meeting with Stacy is scheduled for 5 Saturday, 7pm at the Ashburnham Arms. The informal agenda for the meeting includes:

  • Glyphosate usage and opt-out program: update and actions (including draft survey, and pending Council update)
  • Engaging Blissett Street residents in unused land patch (including draft survey)
  • Ways forward for more trees and less fly tipping
  • Improving Blackheath Road (including conversations with Street Trees for Living and Wickes local manager about trees and green space to act as a deterrent to fly tipping)

 

And of course, any other business of interest to AT residents.

Closure of Greenwich Magistrates Court

Maureen Romeril, February 25th The Ministry of Justice has confirmed that it will close 64 courts within the next two years including Greenwich Magistrate Court on Blackheath Road.  The Court was built in 1909 and is a Grade II listed building situated in a reasonably large site in the Ashburnham Conservation area. It will be interesting to see what happens to this site. The Grade II listing will restrict major redevelopment of the building.

Local discussion - planning application for Ashburnham Place: 5 November, 6:30pm, Ashburnham Arms

Hello everyone, Please join us on Wednesday evening, 6:30pm in the back room of the Ashburnham Arms for a conversation with Chris Horn, client project lead, to present the revised application to build three houses to replace the garages on Ashburnham Place (opposite St. Marks Centre). Originally submitted as a larger development to construct five houses, and with planning permissions refused, this is being brought back as a smaller scheme following advice from the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Hannah Cornett, the architect involved with the planning, will also be in attendance. We look forward to seeing as many people as possible to discuss this significant building application within the Triangle. Do aim to arrive early to get your seat (and drinks). Snacks will be made available as well.
