New restaurant opening: El Alquimista, 2 Stockwell Street

In case you hadn't heard, a new restaurant has opened near Royal Greenwich Park!

As described by the website Square Meal: "El Alquimista specialises in Latin fusion cuisine, drawing inspiration from across South America with a modern twist. The menu is packed with colourful, flavourful dishes designed for sharing."

Their Greenwich location had its soft-launch opening on Friday night with a partial menu unveiled for the next two weeks (while they get accustomed to working in the new space) until the full menu goes live. On a whim, we booked dinner on Saturday night - and while the partial menu is limited, the food was beautifully cooked and prepared. The staff were very welcoming and the chefs were interested in feedback on their dishes.
