Safer Neighbourhood Panel Meeting - 5th July

There will be a West Greenwich Safer Neighbourhood Panel meeting this Thursday 5th July. The panel consists of our local police, local councillors, neighbourhood watch coordinators and myself as the ATA's security representative. This is a closed meeting to members of the public, however, if there are any issues or concerns you would like me to raise on your behalf then please contact me . This year’s Street Party is on Sunday, September 16th

Please save the date for this year’s Ashburnham Triangle street party Sunday September 16th from 13:00 to 18:00 . This year we are excited to have performing one of London’s best loved tribute bands ABBA Chique! We are sure all our little Mama Mia fans and their parents are going to love them. Royal Hill creative arts courses open house, 7th July

Greenwich Adult and Community Learning Creative Arts Festival and Open House at the Greenwich Park Centre, King George Street, SE10 8QB on 7 July 2018, 10am to 3pm Free taster sessions by expert tutors will be offered in digital photography, dark room, guitar, Italian, crochet, machine embroidery, Mandarin, piano, pottery - raku, pottery - wheel-throwing, stained glass and sandblasting. Students will be displaying and selling their work - ceramics, stained glass, art, jewellery and more. See the facilities, speak to the tutors and students. Display of wooden model of 1840 Greenwich closes 30th June

The Greenwich section of a 1:1500 scale wooden model of London as it was in 1840 is on display at the Greenwich Visitor Centre, The Old Royal Naval College, SE10 9LW until Saturday 30th June, 10am-5pm, admission free. Constructed by community interest organisation London 1840, the different sections of the model are on display at various London locations as part of the London Festival of Architecture. The model reaches from Paddington in the west to the River Lea in the east, and from Highbury in the north to Kennington and Greenwich in the south. London 1840 says: In 1840 Greenwich was two working towns separated by probably the finest collection of classical buildings in the country. West Greenwich, or Old Greenwich according to Booth, 'retains the characteristics of a country town.....the inhabitants are with the exception of a few shop-keepers, working people - coalies, gas stokers, lightermen, bargemen, waterside and other labourers', and East Greenwich, also a worki...

The cruise liner Azamara, docked near the Sail Loft, was being boarded by cruise passengers ferried from Greenwich Pier. Meanwhile at Greenwich station, no passengers or trains, just under-platform pipework.

GDIF, outdoor arts festival, 21st June-7th July

The Greenwich+Docklands International Festival has a packed schedule of street performances. The first half tend to be in Greenwich - Old Royal Naval College gardens, Cutty Sark Gardens, etc, and the second half in Canary Wharf, Woolwich, Eltham. But there is some overlap.
