Abba Chique at the Street Party

Image
Loved Mama Mia? The most exciting addition to this year’s party is our showcase band ABBA CHIQUE, London’s best-loved ABBA tribute band. Their costumes and sound are fantastic and sure to be a hit with children and adults alike. Since 2009 the band have been performing sell-out ABBA tribute shows all over the UK and at various locations abroad. They recently performed at the popular London Pantomime Horse Race held in Greenwich to a packed crowd at the Prince of Greenwich pub. We would like to invite all our children to participate in a 1970s ABBA-inspired fancy dress contest. All participants will be awarded a prize and there will be a special prize for the best outfit and dancing!

Watch out, summer burglars about!

Image
Opportunist burglar gaining entry via an open window I've just been informed by our Safer Neighbourhood Police, that between the 19th and 20th August, there were two burglaries in the Crooms Hill area that occurred overnight. Access for both of these burglaries was gained through open windows; presumably left open due to the hot weather. If you are going to sleep with windows left open, make sure they cannot be accessed via a wall, rainwater pipe, flat or pitched roof. Better still, fit window locks which allow you to open them a little for ventilation but not wide enough for a person to climb through. But please remember to close and LOCK all windows and doors before you leave your property.  Tina Pugh Security

Electric Vehicle Lamppost Charging Consultation

Image
The ATA has been notified by Transport team at the Council that a public consultation has gone live to allow them to consider locations within the Borough to trial lamppost charging for electric vehicles. There is a link to the consultation below and it is your opportunity promote the Triangle and your street. The trial is really focused on existing EV owners and those considering buying an EV in the future that might be put off by limited opportunities to charge in the vicinity but this is our opportunity to promote the Triangle and to encourage EV's to the area. Whilst we haven't seen the style of the charging points we'd assume they are more fitting for the conservation area by being linked to lampposts than the charging points on Blisset Street and Maidenstone Hill which are our closest charging points currently.
