Upcoming events at Highroad Social

Hello everyone - a few updates on activities at Highroad Social (178 Greenwich High Road) that may be of interest:

  • Enjoy cocktails with Josh during the 'Social Hour' period, Wednesday-Friday, 4-6pm. Josh has been working on a new cocktail and wine list, including developing the 'Social Hour' concept by offering 2-for-1 on selected cocktails, wines by the glass and schooners of beer.
  • Winemakers Dinners are being held on the second Wednesday of every month. The next dinner is scheduled for 9 April and the featured wine is Malbec (though other wines are included, too). As a reminder, Social Club members enjoy 10% off the price of their meal.
  • Highroad Social Club membership details can be found here.
  • During the Easter & May Bank Holidays, Highroad Social remains open.
  • The Social Set Menu has proven popular, and changes depending on the availability of ingredients. This menu is available at lunchtimes Thursday-Saturday and on Wednesday-Thursday evenings. More information on the Social Set Menu, and other menus, can be found here.

7 May, 7pm: meeting for residents to discuss Lewisham College redevelopment

Hello everyone - as you will have seen, plans have been submitted for the redevelopment of the Lewisham College Deptford Campus into a complex of hundreds of new flats. These plans have elicited a variety of responses, both positive from negative, from area residents in Greenwich and Lewisham who have concerns about the potential impact of such a significant development on both neighbourhood and skyline. On Wednesday 7 May, 7pm at the Ashburnham Arms, please join us for a discussion of the redevelopment project. Depending on the turnout (and weather), we may also use the adjoining Ashburnham Retreat space. Confirmed guest speakers include: Aidan Smith, Councillor, Greenwich Park Ward Raj Patel, Representative, Greenwich Society Mick Delap, Founder of the CreekLink charity Additional speakers have been approached. We look forward to seeing you on the evening for a productive discussion of planning and next steps.
